Victory for California Parents!

In a Victory for California Parents State Attorney General Bonta Admits Under Oath That School Boards Are Not Required to Follow His School Secrecy Policy

May2, 2024

Today we learned from Assemblyman Bill Essayli that Bonta's admission in court that California Department of Education guidance to keep secrets from parents is unenforceable.  This is a victory for parents and school board members who will not be intimated by empty lawsuits and threats.

We supported Assemblyman Essayli's legislation AB 1314 this last session which would have permanently codified a parent's right to know if schools are social transitioning their child's gender.

PERK encourages every California school district to immediately repeal any secrecy policies that were implemented as a result of unenforceable guidelines illegally issued by the California Department of Education.

On Friday, April 26th, 2024, Tulsi Gabbard delivered a profound speech during PERK's Liberty Series event at Godspeak Church in Newbury Park, California. The theme of the event was "Liberty & Love of Country," where she eloquently touched upon the subjects of freedom and civil rights. Amidst the backdrop of political decisions driven by fear, Tulsi's message of hope resonated with the audience. The lineup of speakers featured prominent figures such as PERK President Amy Bohn, Pastor Rob McCoy, and Pastor Rick Brown.

Tulsi Gabbard Speaking Truth in California!

Tulsi Gabbard, Keynote speaker for PERK fundraiser at the California Club in Los Angeles, Ca.

PERK was honored to welcome combat veteran, 4-term member of Congress, and 2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard last Saturday, April 27 as our keynote speaker at the California Club to discuss pre-release of her new book For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind.

Tulsi called on those who love America to stand up for peace, defend freedom and protect our democratic republic from those seeking to undermine it at every turn.

We were delighted to honor our PERK Advisory Board Member Melissa Oakland with “The Guiding Light Award” and we give thanks to the Oakland’s for hosting us for the evening at the stunning California Club.

Amy Bohn, PERK President, spoke of the importance of sacred spaces for girls and women, the protection of children from gender affirming care, medical freedom and how PERK is a leader in action, advocacy, legislation and health freedom now and for future generations. Amy was able to highlight the hard work that the PERK team has achieved in their California efforts

The evening brought together hundreds of guests including Dr. Mark McDonald, Dr. Judy Mikovits, Dr. Khatibi, musician DPAK, Organizations and leaders from the LA Lincoln Club, veterans, first responders, former member of the The Pussycat Dolls Jessica Sutta, Nicole Pearson from Protect Kids CA, our PERK legal team, officials such as Assembly member Bill Essayli and Chino Valley Unified board president Sonia Shaw.

We couldn't have accomplished such a successful evening without the support of our generous sponsors and freedom leaders in the movement.  We are grateful to our PERK volunteers and event committee for all their support and efforts throughout the evening. We couldn’t have done it without you!

For those who did not get the opportunity to donate at the event, please take the time to do so. Your support is meaningful to the future of California! Please review our current initiatives below.

For Love of Country

Tulsi Gabbard was the rising star of the Democrat Party. But the growing wokeness, fomenting racism, and intolerance were more than she could stomach, and she left. This is her story and a call to action to Americans who love our country and cherish peace and freedom. Purchase her book here.

CHD Scores Win in ‘Smart City’ Lawsuit as Court Orders Los Angeles to Turn Over Documents

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) sued the City of Los Angeles to obtain records CHD said are essential to protecting the rights of residents, who don’t know what forms of surveillance they and their children are being subjected to and as a result, can’t exercise their legal right to opt out of being surveilled.

By  Brenda Baletti, Ph.D.

A California judge this week ordered the City of Los Angeles to release documents related to its smart city initiatives to Children’s Health Defense (CHD), which requested the documents under the California Public Records Act.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff said the city must turn over missing email attachments, produce supplemental documents, conduct a new search relevant to privacy laws and contracts, and deliver other documents the city withheld last year by claiming privilege when it only partially responded to CHD’s request.

In his order, Judge Beckloff cautioned the city that “the Petitioners’ interest in the requested records is substantial” and that interest — namely the city’s Digital Code of Ethics and “the right of a member of the public to opt out of the collection and sharing of personal data” — must be considered when the city invokes deliberative process privilege. …….
