Understanding the Veto Process

Breakdown of the VETO process and action steps.

Any bills presented on or after August 20th 2022, must be signed or vetoed by the Governor by September 30th 2022 or they become a statute without his signature.

Tell Governor Newsom to VETO the remaining bad bills.

Bill Status Here

We only have days to get the Governor to Veto these bad bills. We need everyone’s help to make our voices heard and stop these bills.

He has until September 30th to sign bills into law or Veto. Don’t wait, contact him now. We need a massive amount of calls, tweets and emails to make an impact. Please take all of the following action steps today!

  1. Call Governor Newsom’s office (916) 445-2841

  2. ONE MINUTE ACTION EMAIL CAMPAIGN for each bill using links below and email his office via email portal.

  3. Tag Governor Newsom with #VETO(bill number) #(bill number) on Twitter @GovPressOffice @GavinNewsom @CAgovernor . Tell him to VETO AB 2098, AB 1797, SB 1479, SB 1940. A (polite but firm) video post of yourself telling Newsom to VETO would also help boost the message.
