AB 957 has been vetoed. We are winning!

The PERK Advocacy team is glad to share that we had a productive meeting with the Governor's office on Friday, September 22nd. We cannot express our gratitude enough for your unwavering support in making calls and taking action to rally behind our efforts at the Capitol. It is thanks to your dedication that we were able to achieve a resounding success. In a highly significant turn of events, Governor Newsom firmly rejected AB 957 on Friday evening. This decision not only halted the advancement of AB 957, but also effectively put a stop to the progress of SB 599, which heavily relied on the approval of AB 957 to move forward. We are immensely grateful for the impact we made together, and we look forward to what lies ahead on our path to enact positive change.

AB 957 has been rejected by the Governor.

This also ends SB 599 because it relied on AB 957 being approved.
